How to print a clean coloring page at home
The essential settings for crisp outlines and an enjoyable page on a home printer.
A good print mostly depends on format, scale and paper. You do not need to work through every advanced printer setting.
Choose PDF for an A4 page
PDF keeps the page dimensions stable and prevents unexpected resizing. PNG remains useful for archiving or sharing the image.
Check the scale
Choose “Actual size” or “Fit to printable area” depending on your printer. Avoid enlarging a small image beyond its original resolution.
Pick suitable paper
White paper between 90 and 120 gsm works well for most pencils. For markers, thicker paper helps prevent ink from bleeding through.
Run one test first
Print a single page at standard quality before making several copies. You can adjust contrast or margins without wasting paper.
